Actually our collection of leadership wisdom is already close to 30 and growing. We are working towards a final goal of 36. These are the first to respond. Many have already sent their contribution for inclusion in this collection. More are coming and the final cover design will reflect it...

You might recognize a name or two among our guest expert authors.

The marjority of our guest experts are already authors, some with best selling books, and many have earned acclaim for their demonstrated leadership and their inspirational speaking. Most of these folks are professional collegues and friends. Some are Toastmasters friends. Some were referrals and some were approached because of a leadership book or books they had written.

Each is committed to helping you become a better equipped and more powerful leader.

You might wonder how they came to be involved in this project and publication. Very simple answer, "I asked for their help!"

One of the biggest lessons learned in my own leadership journey was the secret power of getting out of my own way, in parking my ego, and in asking for help. I found that quite often, folks were more open to help than I was to ask. I am privileged to be in the company of their leadership.

Our intention with this leadership project and e-publication is to provide a variety of perspectives, expertise, and experience in leadership that each of us can draw from (a well of wisdom, if you will) in our own quest to either claim, enhance, or hone our leadership skills. Leadership success is an educational journey where you learn on the go. As someone once said, "For the leader, school is never out." Leadership is a learn-as-you-grow proposition. You garner knowledge from reading and interacting, you anchor it and prove its value in the field with real people.

The legacy of leadership you leave is founded on those lessons and the interaction you've had with the folks you were leading and with those who have invested in your own leadership journey. Leaders grow other leaders. Leadership at its 'best' is about developing other leaders. This is what motivates me to create this publication to invest in your growth and to help equip you to succeed in your leadership journey.

It is being created to encourage each of us to claim, develop, and expand our personal leadership skills.
This leadership project and e-publication will be formally launched at the upcoming Toastmasters International Convention being held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on Friday, August 15th, 2008.
Bob is also creating "The Power of One! Pocket Wisdom of Leaders" as his personal gift to those who attend his keynote in Calgary. He is looking for up to three sponsors to offset the cost of production and printing to allow him to give one to each audience member. Bob 'Idea Man' Hooey, DTM, PDG, Accredited Speaker is keynoting the Toastmasters International annual Leadership Luncheon on Friday, August 15th and will be giving a copy of this e-book to everyone in the audience. Each of their new District Governors and their incoming International Board will get one as well.
We hope it will grow legs as it reaches out across the 93 countries represented by Toastmasters International in helping equip and motivate thousands of Toastmasters and their circle of influence to claim their personal leadership and hone their leadership skills.
