Update, evening of Sept 8th: Safely down the building for year two...Even though we got started a bit late this year; we are sitting with just under $3200 in confirmed support. A respectable donation for a very worthy cause. Thanks! Very close to last year's $3202 Thanks to each of my 2008 Support Team... Together with the supporters of my fellow Edmonton Superheroes, we have helped Alberta Easter Seals raise a record $93,730 and counting... Bob PS: Rented the 'Old Batman' costume again this year... figured it worked last year... smile. Pictures and other notes to follow. Meet my new hero, Taylor Cumming... I met Taylor when we were doing our training last year. She is a 20 year old UofA student who did this Easter Seals event because she has a brother with Muscular Dystrophy and wanted to help. I was very impressed... who said our younger generation aren't committed? She is motivated, focused and is already making a difference in her world. Her folks must be so proud. I would be, should I have an amazing daughter or granddaughter like Taylor. She approached her friends and her dad's business contacts and raised over $4900 for Alberta Easter Seals. Amazing... Way to go Taylor... thanks for your leadership. |

Here is how it works: 2008 date is Monday Sept. 8th. With your help I step off the top of the Sutton Place Hotel at 9:45AM. Anyone who raises a minimum pledge of $1500 for the Alberta Easter Seals Drops Zone before Sept. 8th, 2008 will earn the chance to rappel down the side of the 29-story Sutton Place Hotel (10235 101 St in Edmonton). Since 2005, more than 600 superheros joined this exclusive Superhero Club for Easter Seals. Thanks to my support team, I am a part of that courageous group this year in helping Easter Seal Kids. I am asking for your continued involvement in making that goal a reality. I could have donated the $1500 for the chance to walk down the building, but that would defeat my goal and the process of engaging and involving a greater number of people in the process. People like you... I believe in the power of making a 'leveraged' difference.
This program is one of those being used by Easter Seals all across Canada. Last year (Edmonton's first) 37 people rappeled down and this year they have a goal of doubling that number. They only have room for 70 Superheros. I am one of them this year and with your help, surpass that challenging goal.
